ABOUT US
The pantry started in November 2010 with a merging of two existing pantries – the First Christian Church pantry and the Alliance of Churches Pantry. These two groups formed the nucleus of a greatly expanded pantry that is community based.
Leading up to the decision to form a community pantry were four years of “One Day Food Distributions” sponsored by the Alliance Kiwanis Club. The “One Day Food Distributions” were held once a month for 9 months of the year. The Akron-Canton Food Bank brought a truck load of food to our community and the Kiwanis Club and monthly sponsors passed out bags of groceries to around 500 families on the last Friday of the month.
The tremendous need demonstrated by these distributions led to the formation of the Alliance Community Pantry.

- volunteers
- food and money donors
- the community
- pantries across the United States.
What We Do
The Alliance Community Pantry, has become a major source of food for those with hunger needs in the Alliance area. Clients are served from the pantry conveniently located in downtown Alliance.
How To Get Help
After registration (photo ID and proof of residence needed) clients can come every two weeks to receive food. To receive food the family must meet Federal and State Food income guidelines.
How You Can Help
The Alliance Community Pantry is a 100% volunteer organization. Volunteers come from all segments of our community. Some volunteers work one day a week every week while others work only a few times a year. Learn more:
Food and Funding
FOOD is what we’re all about – lots of it and in as much variety as we can get. We have a very short version of our mission as it relates to food: FOOD – GET IT – GIVE IT. Food, funding and volunteers makes the pantry possible.
The Alliance Community Pantry is a 501 (c) (3) non profit organization organized in the State of Ohio.
